Research paper "Recreating xylography matrices with laser cutter"
The aim of the research paper was to find out, how accurately is it possible to recreate old xylography matrices using new technologies. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this method?

1. How accurately can wooden printing plates be recreated using laser cutter?
2. What are the differences between the original and the prints made with machine cut matrix?

Results:

On the woodcut the new imprint covered ~ 96,8 % of the original.
On the wood engraving the new imprint covered ~ 94 % of the original.

Similarities:
- visible wood grain
- embossed trace of the image on the back of the print
- the authenticity of the printing ink

Differences:
- intricacy of details
- sensitivity of the lines
- printing defects
